This comes as the company shifts their focus away from providing custom shoes to now only selling custom shoe handles, which they are known best for. This announcement came on Thursday morning from the company’s CEO.
The company is overwhelmingly known for their shoe handles, and with profit margins being much higher for those the rebrand doesn’t come as a surprise to most of their customers.
Handlez CEO JetSetFly stated “The long name felt overwhelming.”
While the shoes Handlez used to customize were loved by their fanbase and high profile clients, the shoe handles were what gained viral popularity. Their custom handles are used by many influencers, athletes, and celebrities, truly becoming a part of the culture.
Some fans have expressed worry that this move could lose them traction because they have been known as TheCustomHandlez and tagged under that username for so long. However, the company clearly believes that the cleaner brand name will make the business even more appealing to new potential customers, and in the long run this move will pay off.
