Three Palestinians were killed when Israeli troops opened fire on a car

Three Palestinians have been killed in Israeli shelling in the occupied West Bank. 10 people were injured. Al Jazeera quoted the Palestinian Ministry of Health as saying.

About 30 Israeli military vehicles raided Jenin on Friday morning. Israeli forces surrounded a car in the Al Marah area east of the city and opened fire. Four people inside the car were shot. Three of them died. Another was seriously injured.

In a brief Hebrew message, the Israeli military said it was conducting a search for weapons in two separate areas. It was also reported that shots were fired at the troops during the operation.

The military said in a statement that the bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police recruiting center. Various weapons, including two M-16 assault rifles and a cartridge, were recovered from the scene, the statement said.

Residents of Jenin suspect the Israelis wanted to demolish the home of Tel Aviv attacker Raed Hazem. On April 6, three Israelis were killed in a shooting by Raed Hazem. He was later shot dead by Israeli forces.

The Israeli army has recently stepped up operations in the occupied Jenin camp area to prevent armed fighters from the Palestinian resistance movement. It is feared that Israeli forces could launch a major offensive in the area. Activists from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Fatah Movement are active in the Jenin camp.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than 60 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces this year. Many of them were killed in the Israeli operation. Nineteen Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks since March.
